Importance of the Guarantee
As a Dulux Select Decorator, you should be guaranteeing your workmanship for a minimum of two years and one of the benefits of being a Dulux Select Decorator is that AkzoNobel will additionally underwrite your workmanship guarantee for the same two-year period.
If an AkzoNobel product is at fault, then AkzoNobel will take the appropriate action to rectify the issue. Alternatively, if the fault within a job is workmanship related, then you the member will be responsible for rectifying the issue. However, AkzoNobel and the Dulux Select Decorators team will always endeavour to provide advice and support for you where possible, when dealing with the issue - completing an independent and fair assessment for all parties involved.
In the unlikely scenario where a Select member defaults on their guarantee, AkzoNobel will ensure the work is completed to a satisfactory standard by appointing another scheme member. It is this assurance for homeowners, which makes the Guarantee a great sales tool for members.
There are several reasons why work cannot be covered by the Select Guarantee, at which point you will need to issue a Disclaimer form. Here are several key reasons when a job or certain areas of a job should be disclaimed:
