Dulux Trade Scuffshield sweeps the board in our latest Dulux Trade Review Panel

The Dulux Trade Review Panel is where we get feedback from the real experts - those painters and decorators who use Dulux Trade products on their projects.

There’s no replacement for getting genuine reports on whether or not a new product works like it should in the real world - and with Dulux Trade Scuffshield, it didn’t just get good reviews from professionals. It got great reviews.

"A great product"

Dulux Trade Scuffshield Matt is formulated to protect walls in high-traffic spaces - combining the great colour protection, stain resistance and simple cleanability of our Diamond range, with enhanced scuff resistance.

The Dulux Trade Diamond range is 2x more scuff resistant than standard matt formulation, whereas Dulux Trade Scuffshield Matt is a whopping 6x more scuff resistant - making it the ideal product for the busiest areas within a home or commercial environment.

And in direct comparisons, the decorators could see the benefit, they said that for very busy areas, prone to knocks and scrapes, like a corridor, hallway or stairway, it outperforms Diamond.

"There is no comparison."

One reviewer commented that having tried both Scuffshield and Diamond in a really high traffic area in a recent project, there was really no comparison between the two for scuff resistance.

"Scuffshield can cope with lots of scuff marks and stains. When I tested it, it dried quickly and had a real matt finish, whereas Diamond can sometimes have a slight sheen to it once it dries."

This reviewer thought Scuffshield might be one of the best paints in the whole Dulux Trade range, and the responses we received from our professional decorators all tell a very similar story:

  • 100% were very satisfied or satisfied with Dulux Trade Scuffshield Matt opacity
  • 100% were very satisfied with Dulux Trade Scuffshield Matt’s overall finish
  • 100% would use Dulux Trade Scuffshield Matt on their next customer project in a busy area

A clean sweep across the board. Not bad for a paint formulated specifically to stand up to thousands of footsteps.

Getting the most from Dulux Trade Scuffshield Matt

If you want to try Scuffshield on your next project, one of our reviewers provided their feedback on applying it for the best finish:

"Slightly dilute the first coat. I painted in a ‘W’ motion with my roller to make sure of a consistent finish. After two coats on each wall with four hours drying time between, the areas looked amazing."

They went on to praise Scuffshield’s “nice matt finish” before awarding it full marks on opacity and finish - results that you should be able to replicate on your next project.

A huge thank you to all of the professional painters and decorators who have taken part in testing products as part of the Dulux Trade Review Panel.
