Product Description

Dulux Trade Weathershield Preservative Primer + (BP) penetrates into wood to seal and preserve against water damage, decay and blue stain fungi. Provides 8 year weathering durability, when used as part of the full Weathershield exterior paint system.

Application Description

Application: Brush only. Do not spray. MIX THOROUGHLY BY SHAKING THE CONTAINER BEFORE USE. Pour out a sufficient amount of primer for the job into a suitable container. Do not thin. Ensure surface is clean, dry and free from any surface coating, mould or algae before use. Use pre-treated timber for in ground contact situations. Apply two even coats. Allow 24 hours for second coat to dry. Lightly sand before application of Weathershield Exterior Flexible Undercoat, or Weathershield Quick Dry Exterior Undercoat.

Tips & Advice

  • 1. Preparing the Surfaces
    To get the best results, ensure surfaces to be painted are sound, clean and dry (new surfaces particularly must be fully dry). See Dulux Trade Datasheet 540 for full information before use, available free on request by telephoning 0333 222 70 70 or visiting www.duluxtrade.co.uk. Before surface preparation read the Health & Safety information about old lead paints.
  • 2. Cleaning
    After use, remove as much primer as possible from equipment before cleaning with water
  • 3. Storing
    Do not use or store in extremes of temperature and protect from frost.
