Say hello to one of your Academy trainers

If you sign up to a Dulux Academy course, there's a strong chance that you'll meet Mark Rigby. Mark is one of the Academy's trainers and brings more than three decades of painting and decorating experience to the courses he runs. We caught up with Mark recently for a quick chat to find out more about him, the Dulux Academy, and what the thinks will be the trends in 2019. Keep reading to find out more.

Meet Mark Rigby

Tell us a bit about yourself!

"I'm Mark from the Dulux Academy. I've been in the decorating industry for over 35 years and have been with Dulux Academy for 3 years."

What do you enjoy most about your job?

"My favourite part of my job is meeting the delegates and the lectures at the colleges."

What does your role involve?

"I teach the courses using a network of colleges across the country. The five main colleges I work with are South Lanarkshire, Leeds, Lincoln, Bolton and Walsall."

What's currently happening at Dulux Academy?

"We have recently launched the new course prospectus and within that we have changed some course and launched brand new courses, such as the Kitchen & Furniture Refurbishment course. So, it's well worth a look."

What trends are you seeing within the decorating industry?

"Trends within decorating are always changing, as it's fashion based. At the moment we are seeing a lot of wallpapering coming back into fashion and the wallpapering courses are proving really popular."
