Enriching lives through cycling

Enriching lives through cycling

During the course of the two day event, the 185 mile route will take the team around the capital, past some of London's most iconic monuments and surrounding picturesque villages. With a total ascent of 9,411 feet, this is the largest event of its kind and is set to be an unforgettable weekend and a fantastic achievement for those involved.

The teams usually get some well-earned rest at the basecamp at Ascot racecourse but this year, the cyclists will be pitching up at Windsor race course. This new basecamp also means an updated route, allowing participants to experience even more of the great British Countryside.

Sam Lucas, Marketing Manager at Dulux Select Decorators is preparing to undertake the challenge for the second year running and looking forward to a little change in scenery.

"Last year's event made for a great weekend and although tricky at times, the route offers some great views to get you through those climbs! It's great to see so many people come together for a worthy cause and the fantastic team morale definitely motivates you in last miles!"

All of the money raised by the team goes to our partner charity, The Outward Bound Trust. This brilliant charity is dedicated to enriching the lives of young people, often from underprivileged backgrounds, with adventurous and challenging outdoor learning programmes. These courses are designed to equip them with valuable skills and confidence to succeed in the world.

The money raised by last year's event enabled 121 young people to complete a 19 day 'Skills for Life Award'. This year, the target is £150,000 so with your help, we're looking to make an even greater impact to this worthy cause.

Even if you're not up for cycling, you can head down to soak up the atmosphere and support the riders or make a valued donation from the comfort of your own home!

Every donation, no matter how big or small, will take the team that bit closer to the target and transform the lives of young people from all walks of life.
