Bringing colour to peoples lives
Our Commitment to positively colour 1 million lives by 2020 has supported refurbishment projects in schools and football clubs and youth centres across the UK through our programmes with the Outward Bound Trust and others. We use LBG - the global standard for measuring corporate community investment, to measure and benchmark our community involvement activities.
Community RePaint
Over 25 years ago, Dulux helped set up Community RePaint - a paint reuse network that collects leftover paint and redistributes it to benefit local communities and charities. With Dulux sponsorship and Resource Futures management the network continues to grow, and is now made up of over 70 non-profit reuse schemes across the UK.
Outward Bound
Our main charitable partner is the Outward Bound Trust, which aims to unlock the potential of young and often disadvantaged people through safe and challenging outdoor experiences, raising their self-esteem and preparing them to face the future with confidence. We support them in a variety of ways, including financially and through our network of employees who volunteer as Outward Bound Trust mentors.
CRASH
CRASH is a construction industry charity that works with companies from the construction and property industries to help create places that care for vulnerable people in homelessness projects and hospices. As a patron of CRASH, we are directly involved with a number of projects each year, providing paint and technical advice.
BAFFA
Every two years, we support 15 employees to help build and colour schools in Cameroon or Nepal as part of our Build A Future For Africa & Asia employee-initiated programme. As well as supporting these communities, our employees benefit immeasurably from this experience and return to us with fresh perspectives, inspired, encouraged and usually exhausted!
Local communities
The AkzoNobel community program which was launched in 2005, encourages employees to get involved in their local communities by actively contributing to local, worthwhile projects and gives them the financial support to do it.
