Doing more in the community

We believe colour can make a real difference to people's lives thanks to its power to create a better living environment for everyone. Around the world we've added colour to hundreds of local communities through our Let’s Colour programme and made cities more liveable for millions of people. Find out where we've added colour to people's lives here.

Cidade que Brinca, EMEF Duque de Caxias, Sao Paulo, Brazil

The Cidade que Brinca project is aimed at building spaces for outdoor games and activities for children. In this project, 112 litres were donated and 58 people worked to create fun and uplifting murals around the city of Sao Paulo

Yongzheng School, Dali, China

Almost 600 litres of paint were used to give a new lease of life to schools for 'left-behind children', whose parents have left to work in faraway cities. Interior and exterior rooms were painted by 100 people including AkzoNobel staff and families, who also took time to play with the children and introduce them to their new space.

Beledi, Egyesitett Szocialis Kozpont (Social Care Centre), Beledi, Hungary

More than 60 volunteers gathered to paint the internal walls of the Social Care Centre, which were neglected and out-of-date. Freshly painted walls helped brighten up the centre for all its visitors including babies, children and the elderly.
