Product Description

Pyroshield Basecoat from Dulux Trade is a smooth water-based, flame-retardant basecoat, used as part of a certified and approved system for upgrading the reaction-to-fire surface classification of existing internal finishes. It is suitable for all plaster-based interior wall and ceiling surfaces, giving a smooth finish. Pyroshield Basecoat from Dulux Trade should be overcoated with Dulux Trade Pyroshield Matt or Eggshell finish.

Application Description

Application: Brush or roller. Apply in temperatures above 10°C only. Any lower temperature will prolong drying and recoat time. Coverage: 1 coat of Dulux Trade Pyroshield Basecoat achieveing a coverage of 10 m² per litre. It is critical for the flame-retardant properties that this coverage is achieved. Pyroshield Basecoat from Dulux Trade should be overcoated with a 2 coats of Dulux Trade Pyroshield Matt or Egghsell finish. Consult with the AkzoNobel Technical Advice Centre. NOTE: This product must not be thinned but must be stirred thoroughly before use to incorporate any water layer that has been formed on top of the paint in the can.

Tips & Advice

  • 1. Preparing the Surfaces
    To get the best results, ensure surfaces to be painted are sound, clean, dry and free from loose, powdery and flaking materials. See Dulux Trade Datasheet 1018 for full information before use, available free on request by telephoning 0333 222 70 70 or visiting duluxtrade.co.uk. Before surface preparation, read the Health & Safety information about old lead paints.
  • 2. Cleaning
    After use, ensure paint is disposed of in a responsible manner with reference to the Material Safety Data Sheet. The classification of this product may meet the criteria for a hazardous waste. Do not allow product residues to enter drains, watercourses or sewers. Do not use or store in extremes of temperature. When this paint container is empty, please ask your stockist about recycling.

    Do not use or store in extremes of temperature and protect from frost
