Product Description

Dulux Trade Quick Dry Gloss is part 2 of an advanced 2 part water-based, high gloss system that provides a smooth, durable top coat for use on both interior wood and metal.

Application Description

Application: Brush, roller or spray. For best results use a good quality synthetic (nylon polyester) brush, designed for use with water-based paints. STIR THOROUGHLY BEFORE USE. Apply 1 or 2 coats of Dulux Trade Quick Dry Undercoat as required, followed by 1 or 2 coats of Dulux Trade Quick Dry Gloss. Where a strong colour change is involved 3 coats will be required. Newly painted doors and windows should not be closed (tightly) until the paint is fully dry.
Airless Spray: For best results use a 208 or 308 Fine Finish tip @ 1100 - 1500 psi. (80 – 100 bar).
HVLP: For best results use a 1.8mm Fluid Set.
This paint may be susceptible to sagging when applied above 75 microns. For this reason, HVLP is the safer option as this method is naturally slower and more gentle and therefore easier to control.
The use of airless spray should only be considered by a competent and experienced sprayer for these products.

Tips & Advice

  • 1. Preparing the Surfaces
To get the best results, ensure surfaces to be painted are sound, clean and dry (new surfaces particularly must be fully dry). See Dulux Trade Datasheet 550 for full information at duluxtrade.co.uk or by telephoning 0333 222 70 70. Before surface preparation, read the Health & Safety information about old lead paints. Water-borne coatings can be sensitive to rubber containing plasticisers such as flexible PVC strips. The paint film may partially dissolve due to these plasticisers and become sticky. It is advisable to replace such flexible strips with those made of EPDM rubber. We recommend that you seek the advice of the manufacturers of the strips regarding this problem.
  • 2. Cleaning
After use, remove as much paint as possible from equipment before cleaning with water
  • 3. Storing
Do not use or store in extremes of temperature and protect from frost
