Supporting Public Sector projects to demonstrate Social Value

Supporting Public Sector projects to demonstrate Social Value

For public sector projects, demonstration of social value (as defined by the Social Value Act) is a key part
of the tender process. Government bodies must choose suppliers who can provide community investment
which will have a positive impact on those living in the area.

Working collaboratively with both public bodies and contractors, in return for specification of AkzoNobel
products, we can offer a range of social value initiatives to support and enhance the lives of residents; from
training opportunities to local community painting projects.

To find out more about how we can work with you to add real social value, please download our Social
Value brochure
or contact your AkzoNobel representative.

Donate your leftover paint

Did you know than an estimated 50 million litres of the 320 million litres of paint sold in the UK each year go to waste? This paint is either thrown away or stored in homes or garages despite over 50% of it still being usable. Community RePaint is a UK wide paint reuse network, sponsored by Dulux, that collects leftover paint and redistributes it at a low cost to those in social need, communities and charities.

For 25 years Dulux has supported Community RePaint, transforming places and lives with leftover paint. You can also get involved by recycling your leftover paint. Head to the Community RePaint website to find out more.

For public sector projects, demonstration of social value (as defined by the Social Value Act) is a key part of the tender process. Meeting the social value act requirements or aligning with your clients CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) values can help you to secure new business. Your Account Manager has direct access to our Public-Sector team who can support you to develop strategies that demonstrate the social value your company provides.

Here are some examples of how your business can be involved during 2019.

Registrations close soon! Over the years, team Dulux has raised over £680,000 for The Outward-Bound Trust an educational charity that uses the power of the outdoors to change the lives of young people. The funds raised has enabled over 1,000 young people take a journey of self-discovery through powerful, challenging, outdoor experiences. These experiences help young people, often from deprived backgrounds, to realise that they can achieve much more than they may have previously believed. The proof over time has been that attending OBT courses can have a profound impact on the future success of those who take part.
