The Grand Designs Live Show in London looked more impressive than ever this year, thanks to the superb decorating skills of Dulux Select Decorators, Wayne de Wet and Sean Wilkinson.
Grand Designs Live is the number one consumer self-build and interior design exhibition in the UK, and is presented by design guru Kevin McCloud. Over one hundred thousand discerning design enthusiasts visit the annual London show, so it is very important that the sets are finished to a high standard and look fantastic.
A team from the Dulux Design Service, a network of leading professional interior designers, was commissioned to create many of the installations, including the centrepiece Grand Design Theatre. Wayne and Sean then led a team of decorators in bringing the sets to life, pulling out all the stops to prepare and paint all the furniture and fittings in just two days.
The finished sets were so impressive that Kevin McCloud chose to use one as the stage from which to open the show, and celebrity designer George Bond made a special visit to the Dulux team to congratulate them on their work.
Marianne Shillingford, creative director at Dulux, said: "Decorators are the hidden heroes of a high profile show like Grand Designs. They work harder than anyone else to get the sets looking fabulous and go home before the fun starts. The talented team of decorators produced some spectacular results this year, and deserve to be credited for a fabulous job well done."
