The Forecast's Bright & Resilient for Met Office Building

Met Office - Case Study 1

Home to one of the 25 most powerful computers in the world, the new Met Office building in Exeter is part of a 97 million investment in the city by the world leading weather forecaster. The centre can process hundreds of thousands of weather readings and relays sophisticated reports and meteorological information to countries across the globe.

Dulux Trade was chosen to work on the building's paint product specification in partnership with constructor Willmott Dixon and S&S Decorators.

Met Office - Case Study 2

"It was a pleasure to work on a building of this size and dimension. The designers and architects were very specific with what they wanted. The work that is conducted on site by the Met Office team is of vital importance to the whole country, so we wanted to ensure the team there had the best possible working environment"

Chris Bradly Technical Support Manager from AkzoNobel

Dulux Trade Low Odour Eggshell was selected for the interior exposed steelwork, which was designed to create an industrial effect throughout the building. The oil based paint was used to achieve a highly resilient ultra-long lasting finish that would offer an attractive aesthetic look & feel.

Additionally, Dulux Trade Weathershield Smooth Masonry Paint was used where a dense high covering prodcut was needed on concrete block walls in low traffic areas.

Met Office - Case Study 3

The works were carried out by S&S Decorators through the Dulux Trade Contract Partnership, an exclusive network of independently assessed, quality-assured commercial decorators which provide amazing end results.

Contract Partners' continual assessment ensures customers feel comfortable in the knowledge that their contractor will successfully deliver the desired specification everytime
