Visitors to Thames Ditton Cricket Club will be bowled over by its new look, thanks to a major overhaul using Cuprinol decking products.
Cuprinol Ultra Tough Decking Stain was first applied to add colour to the area. Tough and durable, the stain is water repellent and helps prevent decking splitting and cracking. With a drying time of only 4-6 hours it also meant the project could be easily finished over one weekend.
Cuprinol Anti-Slip Decking treatment was then applied over the top of the decking stain. The clear decking protector gives a non-abrasive anti-slip finish and helps prevent the growth of green algae. Containing Cuprinol Deck Grip Microbead technology, the product will achieve the 'low potential for slip' category under the UK Slip Resistance guidelines and BS 7976 - if the area is regularly maintained. The water-based product is ideal for use at public buildings such as this, where safety is a real consideration.
Thames Ditton Cricket Club dates back to 1833, with matches played at Giggs Hill Green ever since. The current pavilion was built in 2004 and is maintained with the help of local volunteers and charitable donations.
