The Storey Arms Outdoor Education Centre sits in the heart of the Brecon Beacons National Park. Located on the highest point of the main road from Merthyr Tydfil to Brecon, the building is subject to the extremes of British weather. So, when Cardiff Council needed an expert to redecorate the exterior of the outdoor pursuit centre, they turned to Contract Partnership and high-quality Dulux Trade products.
DJ Rees Decorating Services were tasked with improving the exterior of the centre and protecting it from the elements.
Owner David Rees says: "Storey Arms is well known in South Wales, and we were delighted to have been awarded the contract to decorate this iconic building. All areas of masonry were treated with a fungicidal solution, then power washed. Any areas of loose or failing paint were treated with stabilising solution and brought forward with one coat of Dulux Trade Weathershield All Seasons Masonry Paint, in order to even out any imperfections. Then another two coats of Dulux Trade Weathershield All Seasons Masonry Paint were applied."
"Metal handrail frames were prepared, Zinc Phosphate spot primed, one coat of Dulux Trade Weathershield Undercoat and two coats of Dulux Trade Metal Shield Gloss. Timber sections of railings were finished with Dulux Trade Weathershield Opaque Woodstain."
Andy Meek, head of the Storey Arms centre, says: "DJ Rees Decorating Services helped improve the exterior of the centre and now it not only looks good, but it is protected from the elements with Dulux Trade Weathershield All Seasons Masonry Paint. Visitors to the centre all comment on how smart the centre now looks sitting in this iconic Welsh location. I am very pleased with both the product finish and how the work was undertaken within our time frame and budget."
